The basics.
I am 25, female and a Pisces-Aries. I live in Adelaide, Australia with my partner and our two cats. After finishing high school, I attended the University of Adelaide, where I completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English and Linguistics. After a year off, I returned to university and completed my Graduate Diploma in Education. I am now an English / ESL teacher in my third year of teaching at a secondary school in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, where I have been fortunate enough to work since Term 2, 2007. I enjoy my job and am currently teaching English, ESL, Australian Studies and Work Education.
Hobbies / Interests
I like writing. About half of my stories are suspense and the other half are fantasy. I also had a brief fling with Harry Potter fanfiction when I was in High School but I have been working on two of my original stories (SR and Jewel) since 1999. I also took part in National Novel Writing Month for the first time last year. I wrote just over 34,000 words and I’m still working on the novel I started, CR.
I love to read, particularly young adult, fantasy and suspense novels. Some of my favourite authors are: Matthew Reilly, Tamora Pierce, JK Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, Shannon Hale, Christopher Paolini, Garth Nix, Anne Bishop, Iris Johansen, Jodi Picoult and Cecilia Dart-Thornton.
I also love playing PC games, Playstation games and my Nintendo Wii & DS. I’m currently obsessed with the PS3 game Oblivion. I also make my own beaded jewellery when I have time and I like to take photos, create web pages and logos.
I like listening to music. I listen to a whole range of genres but am currently obsessed with Coldplay. Some of the other artists / bands I enjoy are Backstreet Boys, Westlife, U2, Matchbox 20, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Jet, My Chemical Romance, Avril Lavigne, Mika, Green Day, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Evermore, Thirsty Merc, Silverchair, Delta Goodrem, Human Nature, Shannon Noll, Celine Dion and The Who.
I have a newfound interest in camping as my partner loves camping, four-wheel driving and fishing, which is quite amusing given that I am afraid of fish (it’s a long story). He is slowly helping me to get over that fear. I am planning to start a blog on camping and four-wheel driving here in South Australia.
